After a successful 2022 IIHF eWorld Championship, in which Finland's "Eki" and "Vattuyy" beat USA in OT in a thrilling final, we are excited to announce the 2023 IIHF eWorld Championship. The tournament will be played on EA SPORTS™ NHL™ 23 (PlayStation and Xbox). Over the course of three phases of competition, beginning with the Qualifiers in January 2023, we will crown the next official IIHF eWorld Champions in March 2023! Get ready and sign up now!

Finland is the IIHF eWorld Champion 2023! The Finnish team has completed the Three-peat winning the third trophy after 2020 and 2022!

The IIHF is taking the next step when it comes to gaming with the launch of the 2023 IIHF eWorld Championship. The tournament will be played on EA SPORTS™ NHL™ 23 (PlayStation and Xbox), with the IIHF and its Member National Associations officially licensed and represented in the game since December 2021. Over the course of three phases of competition, beginning with the Qualifiers in mid-June, we will crown the next official IIHF eWorld Champion in March 2023! Get ready and sign up now!

Participating Countries

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:

JANUARY 2023
PHASE 1: QUALIFIERS

We will kick things off with the Qualifiers. There will be one open online tournament per console (PS/Xbox). The winners of both qualifying tournaments will advance to the group stage.

EARLY FEBRUARY 2023
PHASE 2: GROUP STAGE

The two National Champions of each participating country will then be competing in the Group Stage in two groups of 5 and two groups of 6. The top 2 two countries in each group will advance to the Playoffs!

18. & 19.02.2023 

FEBRUARY & MARCH 2023
PHASE 3: PLAYOFFS

The two players from the 8 best countries coming out of the group stage will compete against each other in a knockout tournament starting with the quarter-finals. In the end, there will be 4 players from 2 countries left who will play the grand final and play for the 2023 IIHF eWorld Championship title.
